Isadora Duncan International Institute Programs

The IDII offers a wide range of on-going programs for children and adults, from classes to special workshops and intensive programs. Courses may be taken as part of the Certificate Programs, or independently.

Isadora for Children™

Programs in creative movement and dance for children held at the historic 92Y Harkness Dance Center foster creativity, strength and discipline. Students may be invited to join the Isadora Duncan Youth Ensemble, an acclaimed professional performing company.

Certificate Program in Myth, Movement and Metaphor

Program combining studies in movement and writing improvisation, choreography, archetypal psychology and mythology.

Sacred Topographies: The Body and The Land Programs

Adventure travel in Myth and Metaphor for those interested in the intersection of dance, archaeology, art and the ancient world. These mythic journeys, which travel to ancient and classical sites abroad, traverse the same ground that vested Isadora Duncan with the body of myth and image providing an indelible impress to her dances and writing.

Sacred Topographies journeys have been held in Italy, France, Greece, Turkey and the Caribbean.

Regular programming is held at either the IDII’s Tempio di Danza, a state-of-the-art dance studio in the heart of the Catskill Mountain region, just 90 miles from New York City; at the renowned 92Y Harkness Dance Center in New York City; at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York and at the original Isadora Duncan Dance Research Center of Kopanos in Athens, Greece with site specific field work in nature and at cultural institutes.
